Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a first-assist in the operating room for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve replacement procedures.
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH); training is available for candidates not already proficient in this technique.
- Deliver comprehensive postoperative care to patients in progressive cardiac care units, including wound management, chest tube and pacemaker wire management, and discharge planning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case management conferences to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide outpatient post-operative follow-up care in the clinic setting, supporting patient recovery and education.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with eligibility for national certification (PA-C).
- Eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant in the relevant state.
- Minimum of four years of experience as a Physician Assistant, including at least two years of experience in cardiac or thoracic surgery.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
