Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Full-time contract role supporting cardiothoracic surgical and medical care
- Significant operating room responsibilities (approximately 60% of time)

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist cardiothoracic surgeons during operative procedures, including first assist duties and tissue handling
- Perform endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) for bypass surgeries
- Conduct pre- and post-operative hospital rounds, monitor patient progress, and update care plans
- Add orders and documentation to the hospital electronic medical record system
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care
- Assist in the outpatient clinic with preoperative and postoperative assessments, follow-up care, and care coordination
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively at multiple clinical locations as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current and valid Physician Assistant licensure (PA-C) required
- Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred, with proficiency in endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH)
- Ability to work full-time contract hours, including a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
