As a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will be integral to our multidisciplinary approach to cardiac and thoracic surgery, helping to improve patient outcomes and advance clinical practice standards.
Our group performs a substantial volume of cardiothoracic procedures annually, including approximately 350 heart surgeries, 200 lung surgeries, and participates in advanced programs such as TAVR and minimally invasive surgical techniques. The Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) will have significant exposure to the operating room, with approximately 60% of time spent assisting in surgeries. This role offers hands-on experience in all aspects of perioperative care, ensuring continuous skill development in one of the most challenging and rewarding surgical specialties.
The schedule for this position includes a full day in the operating room on Monday, along with on-site rounds and surgical assistance on Saturday and Sunday. The remainder of the time involves being on call, providing continuity of care and support for postoperative patients. The Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) will also play a key role in patient evaluations, history and physicals, discharge summaries, and contributing to the maintenance of the STS database. This position is ideal for an experienced PA-C who is comfortable functioning independently within a high-acuity environment and is seeking an ongoing, flexible commitment.
