The Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) participates in a variety of complex surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), arteriovenous (AV) fistula creation, mitral valve repair, abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair, bilateral iliac stenting, lobectomies, mediastinoscopies, and pericardial window procedures. Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Work as an advanced practice provider within a renowned heart surgery group
- Collaborate with board-certified cardiac and vascular surgeons in a high-volume surgical setting
- Participate in a comprehensive range of cardiothoracic and vascular procedures
- Support a program recognized for clinical excellence and specialized complex care
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the operating room for procedures such as CABG, AV fistula creation, mitral valve surgery, AAA repair, bilateral iliac stenting, lobectomy, mediastinoscopy, and pericardial window procedures
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care for surgical patients
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and assist in clinical decision-making
- Participate in rounding, patient consultations, and clinical documentation
- Share in on-call duties, including approximately 7-9 days of call per month and two call weekends per month
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and institutional standards

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery strongly preferred
- Valid licensure as required for practice
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-acuity surgical settings
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
