Palm Health Resources is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a renowned health system in San Francisco, CA, on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant with a passion for cardiothoracic surgery to work alongside a skilled team of surgeons and advanced practice providers in a high-volume, cutting-edge cardiac surgery program. The Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) will be an integral part of a team that performs 500-600 heart surgeries annually, including all standard heart surgery procedures and a transplant program.
As a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will enjoy a high level of professional autonomy in both the operating room and clinical settings. The role primarily focuses on first assisting in surgery, providing you with ample opportunities for hands-on surgical experience. You will be working closely with two full-time surgeons and a collaborative team of advanced practice providers, utilizing state-of-the-art medical technology and benefiting from a robust support structure.
This 12-month contract position, with the option to extend, offers a highly competitive compensation package, including premium hourly pay, overtime, and additional incentives for on-call duties. Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) required.
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant, or eligibility to obtain licensure in California.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in first assisting for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
