Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary- Full-time, locum contract with potential for permanent placement
- Key participant in a multidisciplinary cardiothoracic surgery team
- Comprehensive patient care across OR, ICU, and outpatient clinic
- Opportunity to collaborate with leading cardiac and thoracic surgeons
- Provide advanced first assist in cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) using Maquet VasoView Hemepro 2 system
- Conduct bedside procedures including thoracentesis, chest tube placement, arterial line, and central venous access
- Alternate responsibilities between surgical and non-surgical patient management in collaboration with another PA
- Manage pre-operative history and physicals (H&P) and post-operative recovery for surgical patients in both OR and cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU)
- Participate in weekend and evening call coverage as scheduled
- Support approximately 100+ heart surgeries and an equivalent number of thoracic cases annually

- Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification
- Minimum of one year of experience in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
- At least one year of experience as first assist in cardiac surgery procedures
- Proficiency in bedside procedures relevant to cardiothoracic care
- Eligible for state licensure and able to meet hospital credentialing standards
- Strong clinical judgment, autonomy, and ability to manage high-acuity cases
- Willingness to participate in weekend and evening on-call rotations
- Experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a proven track record in cardiac and thoracic surgery
- Demonstrates teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication skills
