As a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will work within a fast-paced, supportive team structure. You will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH), ensuring optimal surgical outcomes and enhancing patient recovery. Your role will include collaboration with cardiovascular surgeons in the operating room, managing patients post-operatively, and conducting follow-up care and testing. No new patient consultations are required, allowing you to focus on continuity and quality of care for existing patients. The patient census for inpatient responsibilities typically ranges from 8-15, while outpatient clinics see approximately 17-18 patients per day. Utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system, you will efficiently document and coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams.
This position requires active participation in the call rotation, sharing call duties with surgeons and other advanced practice providers. The schedule is structured to support work-life balance, with regular Monday through Friday hours. - Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in cardiac care
- Proficiency and certification in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
- ACLS certification required
- DEA registration and state licensure as an Acute Care PA or NP
- Coachable, team-oriented, and efficient in a fast-paced environment
