Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the operating room during cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, pericardial window creation, and aneurysm repairs.
- Conduct preoperative assessments and post-operative management of surgical patients, ensuring continuity of care.
- Provide clinical support in the outpatient clinic, including patient evaluations, follow-ups, and care coordination.
- Perform inpatient rounds, manage floor patients, and address postoperative needs as required.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed, working collaboratively with the surgical and support teams to provide timely care.
- Document patient care activities in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and support education of patients, families, and staff regarding cardiothoracic surgical care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Physician Assistant certification (PA-C) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in California.
- Previous experience in cardiothoracic surgery or cardiac care preferred.
