Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Full-time advanced practice provider role supporting adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
- Participation in operating room, critical care, and outpatient clinic duties

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist cardiac surgeons during operative procedures, including first and second assist responsibilities
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) for bypass grafting (minimum two years’ experience required)
- Deliver perioperative and postoperative care to adult cardiac and thoracic patients
- Provide clinical care in both inpatient (floor and ICU) and outpatient settings
- Participate in a 1:3 on-call rotation, covering floor, clinic, and operating room calls (ICU call covered by surgeons)
- Work collaboratively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient management and optimize outcomes
- Engage in patient education, discharge planning, and follow-up care
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active and unrestricted state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- At least two years’ experience in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) for cardiac surgery
- BLS and ACLS certification preferred
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac surgery and perioperative care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
