Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Integral member of the cardiothoracic surgical team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- First assist in a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including complex cardiac surgeries.
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting as required for coronary artery bypass surgeries.
- Manage perioperative care for patients in the operating room, ICU, and step-down units.
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and contribute to postoperative management plans.
- Participate in patient rounds and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other allied health professionals.
- Contribute to ongoing research initiatives and support teaching programs within the department.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and surgical procedures.
- Adhere to best practices and regulatory standards for patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Physician Assistant certification (PA-C) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac surgery first assisting and endoscopic vein harvesting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to excellence in patient care.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
