The Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) role offers an outstanding opportunity for advanced practice providers seeking a dynamic position in a non-operative cardiothoracic care environment. This full-time role is based within a leading cardiac surgery program and is focused on delivering high-quality care to patients in cardiothoracic step-down, floor, and clinic settings. The position is designed for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) who are passionate about patient-centered care and eager to be part of a top-ranked multidisciplinary cardiac team.
As a Cardiothoracic NP or PA, you will be an integral member of the inpatient care team, working closely with fellow advanced practice providers, physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals. Your responsibilities will center on managing patients throughout their continuum of care, particularly in the step-down and clinic areas, with no ICU or operating room duties required. This allows for a focused and specialized approach to patient management in a non-operative setting.
Providers in this role will benefit from a balanced work schedule, consisting of seven days worked within a fourteen-day period, promoting an excellent quality of life and work-life balance. There are no on-call responsibilities, allowing you to concentrate fully on patient care during your scheduled shifts. This schedule is designed to support both personal well-being and professional satisfaction.
In this capacity, you will conduct comprehensive patient rounds, perform history and physicals (H&Ps), and participate in patient consultations. Your role will include reviewing orders and charts, responding to clinical issues or questions from nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established clinical pathways, and preparing patients for discharge. You will be expected to contribute to a supportive, patient-focused environment, collaborating with a highly skilled team to achieve optimal outcomes for cardiothoracic patients.
The Cardiothoracic NP or PA will also have the opportunity to engage in ongoing professional development and may be considered for advancement within the department based on performance and experience. The organization is committed to fostering a culture of lifelong learning and excellence in clinical care, making this an ideal setting for providers who are eager to grow within their field.
In addition to a competitive compensation package that reflects experience, the role offers a comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, matching 403B retirement plans, disability coverage, and relocation assistance. These offerings support both your immediate needs and your long-term financial security.
