Cardiothoracic ICU Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - Summary
- Contract position for experienced Cardiothoracic ICU NP/PA
- Work in a high-acuity cardiac surgery intensive care unit
- Provide advanced care for pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to cardiac surgery ICU patients, including both pre- and post-operative management
- Manage patients requiring ECMO, Impella, IABP, and pacemaker support
- Interpret hemodynamic data and manage PA catheters
- Perform procedures such as arterial line placement, central line placement, and occasional chest tube insertion
- Communicate effectively with intensivists and other members of the cardiac surgery care team
- Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in patient rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary care plans

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure
- Experience in cardiothoracic or cardiac ICU settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in caring for patients requiring advanced cardiac devices (ECMO, Impella, IABP, pacemakers)
- Strong procedural skills in arterial and central line placement; experience with PA catheter and chest tube management is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
