Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Locum Tenens Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care to adult patients.
- Interpret EKGs accurately and integrate findings into patient management.
- Manage chronic cardiac conditions and address occasional sub-acute care needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations relevant to cardiovascular health.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHRs).
- Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
- Ensure continuity of care by managing follow-up appointments and monitoring patient progress.
- Deliver patient education on cardiac health, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
- See 8–10 patients per day in a well-organized outpatient setting.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and active board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Active unrestricted New Mexico state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum of two years’ experience in outpatient cardiology required.
- Proven ability to interpret EKGs and manage chronic cardiac conditions independently.
- Strong clinical communication and documentation skills.
