Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Summary
- Serve as a key member of the inpatient cardiology team, delivering advanced clinical care to patients with cardiovascular conditions.
- Collaborate closely with attending cardiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient education, perform advanced assessments, and implement treatment plans.
- Utilize current evidence-based practices to guide patient care decisions and interventions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations of patients with cardiac conditions.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases under the supervision and collaboration of cardiologists.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, including EKGs, echocardiograms, and laboratory results.
- Develop and manage individualized care plans for patients based on clinical findings and best practice guidelines.
- Prescribe medications and adjust treatment regimens as necessary, within the scope of practice.
- Provide patient and family education on disease processes, treatment modalities, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care specific to cardiology.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case discussions to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Respond to patient emergencies and provide acute care interventions as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a focus on adult or family practice.
- Certification as an NP by a recognized certifying body (ANCC, AANP, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in cardiology or a related acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills.
