We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Cardiac Surgeon (MD, Board Certified) to join our esteemed hospital cardiac surgery program located in Upstate New York. As a Cardiac Surgeon (MD, Board Certified), you will become an integral member of an established cardiac team renowned for delivering exceptional patient outcomes and maintaining a strong reputation within the region. The program has a long-standing history, serving the community since the 1990s, and is poised to expand with the addition of a new Cardiac Surgeon (MD, Board Certified).
Our cardiac surgery department is budgeted for four cardiac surgeons, offering abundant opportunities for professional growth and collaborative teamwork. The hospital is the only cardiac surgery provider in the area, performing approximately 400 cardiac surgeries annually, and is actively seeking to increase its caseload. With the closest comparable program over an hour away, this position presents a unique opportunity for a Cardiac Surgeon (MD, Board Certified) to make a significant impact in patient care and program development. The hospital is open to considering candidates eligible for a J1 Visa Waiver, fostering an inclusive and diverse team environment.
The cardiac surgery program is supported by a dedicated team that includes three mid-level providers with approximately two years of experience each. The team is continuously expanding, with a strong focus on providing comprehensive cardiac care. Procedures performed include all aspects of cardiac surgery except for LVAD implantation (although post-LVAD patient care is provided, and future expansion to include LVADs is anticipated) and cardiac transplantation. In addition, the team performs thoracic surgeries and utilizes advanced technology, including a surgical robot for thoracic procedures. Vascular surgeries are managed by a separate group of dedicated vascular surgeons within the hospital, allowing the Cardiac Surgeon (MD, Board Certified) to focus on cardiac and thoracic cases.
