Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS, RCS) - Summary
- Perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures in cardiovascular sonography.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, and vascular studies as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare patients for cardiovascular sonography, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, adhering to quality control protocols and infection prevention standards.
- Analyze and interpret sonographic data, preparing preliminary reports for cardiologists and other medical professionals.
- Work collaboratively with cardiac rehab, interventional cardiology, and vascular imaging departments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures according to hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate flexibility by participating in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, to support patient needs.
- Engage in professional development activities such as attending continuing education sessions and staying updated on the latest advancements in cardiovascular imaging.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of an accredited cardiovascular sonography program.
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant clinical experience or strong training from an accredited program in cardiovascular sonography.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing and interpreting echocardiograms and vascular studies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, as needed for patient care coverage.
