Working in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical personnel, the Cardiac Perfusionist upholds the highest standards of clinical care, safety, and technical proficiency in every case.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, operate, and maintain heart-lung machines and other extracorporeal circulation devices
- Monitor patient’s physiological status during procedures, including blood gases, electrolytes, and hemodynamic parameters
- Administer blood products, medications, and fluids as prescribed, in accordance with surgical protocols
- Keep accurate records of perfusion activities, device settings, and patient responses
- Participate in preoperative planning and postoperative patient management discussions
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, troubleshooting equipment as necessary
- Maintain and calibrate perfusion equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Facilitate or participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to perfusion science

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in perfusion technology, cardiovascular science, or a related field
- Current Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential required
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of extracorporeal circulation equipment
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
