As a Cardiac ICU Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will play a pivotal role in managing critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The responsibilities include cardiac ICU management, heart transplant care, ventricular assist device (VAD) patient care, postoperative heart surgery management, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support, as well as cardiac surgery recovery and floor rounding. The employment type for this role is full-time, and the schedule consists of 40 hours per week, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts, with one weekend shift required per month.
The ideal candidate will possess a current Texas licensure and be available to start immediately upon completion of credentialing. Cardiac ICU Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary- Temporary 13-week assignment with potential for extension

- Engaged in multidisciplinary cardiac ICU care

- Provide advanced clinical care for cardiac ICU patients, including heart transplant and VAD recipients
- Participate in cardiac surgery postoperative management
- Manage patients on ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)
- Conduct CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) and floor rounding
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in a total team environment
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
- Ensure continuity of care and adherence to evidence-based protocols
