Cardiac ICU Nurse Practitioner (NP, ACNP, CVICU) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical care to patients in the CVICU, including advanced assessment, diagnosis, management, and follow-up of critically ill cardiovascular patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform and interpret advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of licensure and credentialing.
- Order and manage medications, interventions, and treatments for acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds, ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients, families, and staff regarding cardiovascular disease processes, treatment modalities, and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, policies, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, active Nurse Practitioner (NP, ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license, with authorization to practice in Texas.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent CVICU or acute cardiac ICU experience in an advanced practice role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing critically ill cardiovascular patients and familiarity with advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of four shifts per month, with additional shifts available as desired.
- Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal communication, and teamwork skills.
- Credentialing requirements must be met for immediate start upon approval.
