Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) - Summary
- Provide technical expertise during cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic, PCI, EP, device, and structural heart cases.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care during complex cardiovascular interventions.
- Ensure strict adherence to patient safety protocols and infection control standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist cardiologists and other physicians during invasive cardiac procedures by preparing and positioning patients and operating imaging and monitoring equipment.
- Set up and maintain a sterile field and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available for each procedure.
- Monitor patient vital signs and condition throughout procedures, promptly communicating any concerns to the medical team.
- Document procedural details and patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and report malfunctions or maintenance needs as necessary.
- Support the training and development of new staff and students in the cardiac cath lab environment.
- Adhere to all facility policies and regulatory standards to maintain accreditation and ensure best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) program or equivalent education in radiologic technology, cardiovascular technology, or a related field.
- Current certification or registry as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist (RCIS), or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating cath lab imaging equipment and monitoring systems.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
