Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse (Cath Lab RN) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations to prepare patients for cardiac interventions.
- Assist cardiologists and other physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiological studies.
- Monitor patient status using advanced hemodynamic monitoring and other diagnostic equipment; recognize changes in patient condition and act swiftly to intervene.
- Respond rapidly to emergencies such as arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, or myocardial infarction using Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including medications administered, interventions performed, and patient responses.
- Facilitate patient recovery post-procedure, ensuring stability and providing detailed discharge instructions to patients and families.
- Maintain a sterile and safe working environment, adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required to provide 24/7 coverage for urgent cardiovascular procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri or compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not mandatory.
- At least one year of recent experience in a Cardiovascular Lab, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or Emergency Department (ED) required.
- Strong clinical assessment, monitoring, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist in patient transfers.
