The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the specialized areas of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Radiology. The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) position requires an active Registered Nurse license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). In addition, candidates must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. A minimum of twelve years of cumulative, job-specific nursing experience is mandatory, with prior experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology strongly preferred. The successful Cardiac Cath Lab RN will demonstrate exceptional clinical assessment abilities, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to patient care.
As a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring comprehensive patient care plans tailored to the needs of individuals undergoing cardiac and interventional radiology procedures. You will serve as the primary coordinator for interdisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. Your duties will include executing physician and nursing orders, closely monitoring patient conditions, and meticulously documenting all aspects of care. Additionally, you will actively participate in complex discharge planning, ensuring that patients and their families are thoroughly prepared for transitions in care.
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) will be required to provide coverage every third weekend and fulfill a minimum of sixteen on-call shifts within each six-week period. This schedule supports the operational needs of the Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology teams, ensuring around-the-clock access to expert nursing care for critical procedures.
