The Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) will join a close-knit anesthesiology team, working collaboratively with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), fellow anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to deliver exceptional perioperative care to cardiac surgery patients. This hospital has fewer than 100 beds, ensuring a focused, patient-centered approach and a collegial team environment.

Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) - Summary

- Engage directly in the care of patients requiring advanced cardiac anesthesia services
- Collaborate with CRNAs, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans
- Administer and monitor anesthesia during cardiac surgeries, including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, and other complex cardiac interventions
- Utilize advanced intraoperative monitoring techniques and technology for optimal patient safety
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, nurses, perfusionists, and other allied health professionals
- Participate in the post-anesthesia care of patients, ensuring safe emergence and recovery
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings
- Supervise and mentor CRNAs, anesthesia residents, and medical students as required
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education (CME) activities
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive base salary of $800,000
- Sign-on bonus of $50,000

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency program
- Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology strongly preferred
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA or AOBA)
- Current, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Demonstrated experience in providing anesthesia for cardiac surgical procedures
- Excellent clinical judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills
