Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD, DO) – Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver cardiac and general anesthesia services for a range of surgical cases, including approximately one open-heart case per day (not every day) and multiple general cases daily
- Participate as part of a six-member anesthesiology group, handling predominantly solo cases
- Supervise and mentor CRNA students during their clinical rotations
- Occasionally oversee CRNAs at a nearby ambulatory surgery center when cardiac cases are not scheduled
- Utilize Cerner electronic medical records (with transition to EPIC underway) and support some paper charting as needed
- Work with a patient population spanning adolescent to geriatric ages, with critical pediatric cases referred to specialized facilities
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and collaborate closely with surgical and nursing teams
