Cardiac Anesthesiologist – Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for high-acuity cardiac and transplant cases, including heart, lung, liver, and kidney transplants, as well as structural heart procedures (TAVR, mitral)
- Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) approximately 70% of the time and manage cases independently 30% of the time
- Utilize the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and patient care coordination
- Participate in the launch and ongoing development of a new heart transplant program
- Contribute to a clinician-led culture that emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and high standards of patient care
- Maintain active participation in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
- Choose between standard call responsibilities and an optional non-call track for lifestyle flexibility
Salary & Benefits
- Base salary starting at $525,000+, negotiable based on experience
- Sign-on bonus of $50,000 with a one-year commitment
- Paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage included
- Comprehensive retirement benefits, including 403(b) with 50% matching on contributions up to 6%, plus an additional 1.5% employer contribution per hour worked
- Six weeks paid time off (288 hours) plus one week CME and a $4,000 stipend

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency
- Fellowship training in cardiac anesthesia strongly preferred
- Board certification or board eligibility in anesthesiology
- Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA certification
- Strong clinical skills and demonstrated experience or interest in cardiac and transplant anesthesia
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities
- Open to experienced practitioners as well as recent fellowship graduates
