The CAD Designer (CAD Technician) role is essential in ensuring accurate creation and maintenance of product documentation, supporting the seamless flow of our manufacturing operations. This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD as well as the ability to utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office for compiling and updating documentation. You will work closely with department heads, managers, and other stakeholders, playing a collaborative role in interpreting specifications and delivering technical solutions that drive our products' quality and efficiency.

CAD Designer (CAD Technician) - Summary
- Responsible for generating precise 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed drafting for manufacturing processes.
- Integral part of a well-established team specializing in the production of architectural wood and laminate doors, artisan hardwood doors, and related components.
- Works collaboratively within the Technical Engineering team to innovate and improve product documentation and factory support systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD drawings for internal use and for customers using AutoCAD software across all product lines.
- Interpret customer machine sheets, hardware templates, and other technical documents to ensure accurate product specifications.
- Develop stage sheets and machine sheets to support efficient production workflows.
- Input and manage customer machine specification data using designated software platforms.
- Conduct thorough quality control reviews of all designs and templates to maintain high standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers to clarify order details and resolve specification queries.
- Utilize QuickBooks to update and maintain customer order records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure all tasks align with production software requirements and company standards.
- Adapt to high-volume, deadline-driven work environments while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 2-year technical degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Drafting, Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of industry experience is preferred, particularly in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software, with Autodesk software experience highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, and technical documents.
- Basic to intermediate math skills and the ability to handle measurements accurately.
- Physical ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, and perform occasional standing and walking in a manufacturing environment.
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
