The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a pivotal role in advancing Tangelo’s mission to improve access to nutritious food for low-income families and those managing chronic conditions. As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will lead outreach and onboarding efforts, representing Tangelo to a diverse range of partners, including clinical providers, community-based organizations, and governmental entities. Your focus will be on identifying high-value organizations, developing structured engagement plans, and ensuring that all partners are well-equipped to participate in our programs.
Working collaboratively with internal teams such as Operations, Product, and Marketing, you will help oversee the entire partner lifecycle—from initial contact and onboarding to referral activation and ongoing relationship management. Your expertise in navigating complex health and social care networks will be essential for driving partner engagement and maximizing the reach of Tangelo’s programs.

Business Development Manager (BDM) - Summary
- Drive partner engagement, onboarding, and program activation to advance Tangelo’s mission of improving food access and health outcomes.
- Serve as a key liaison between Tangelo and external partners in the healthcare, community, and governmental sectors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless partner experiences from introduction to program activation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective partner engagement and growth strategies.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with clinical providers, community organizations, and public-sector stakeholders.
- Lead partner planning, including setting engagement goals and creating structured outreach and onboarding plans.
- Oversee onboarding workflows, ensuring partners are well-prepared to refer participants into Tangelo’s programs.
- Support program activation and lead generation, equipping partners to drive referrals.
- Represent Tangelo at meetings, events, and partner gatherings to build community visibility and trust.
- Collaborate with internal teams for smooth program implementation and effective communication.
- Track and analyze KPIs related to outreach, onboarding, and program activation; refine strategies based on data-driven insights.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in partnerships, growth, or community engagement—preferably in healthcare, human services, or public health.
- In-depth understanding of health and social service infrastructures, especially within urban contexts.
- Proven ability to manage complex partner onboarding and engagement across clinical and non-clinical systems.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with diverse organizational types.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience leveraging data to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a related field (public health, public administration, social work) is advantageous.
