Business Data Analyst - SummaryThe Business Data Analyst position is dedicated to analyzing existing business requirements to gain a deep understanding of current system functionalities, data flows, and organizational pain points. Utilizing this foundational knowledge, you will elicit, document, and refine business requirements for new system implementations or enhancements. This role demands a high level of analytical skill, documentation expertise, and a strategic mindset to ensure technology solutions align with business goals. As a Business Data Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support robust data management and process improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret existing business requirements to identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.
- Document comprehensive business requirements for new systems or upgrades, ensuring clarity and alignment with stakeholder objectives.
- Develop and maintain data-related documentation, including data dictionaries, business requirements documents, and data mapping specifications.
- Design, document, and optimize data workflows by utilizing modeling and mapping tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency in data management processes.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of business requirements with technology solutions.
- Identify and address data quality issues, recommending solutions to improve data integrity and reliability across the organization.
- Support end-users and stakeholders by providing clear documentation and training as necessary on new or updated systems and processes.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of data management practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

- Minimum 13 years of experience as a Business Data Analyst in the Information Technology sector, demonstrating advanced analytical and documentation capabilities.
- At least 8 years of experience creating and maintaining data documentation such as data dictionaries, business requirements documents, and data mapping specifications.
- Minimum 10 years of experience designing and optimizing data workflows and data management processes using industry-standard modeling or mapping tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex business processes and translating them into actionable technical requirements.
- Experienced in large-scale business data analysis and process improvement within technology-driven environments.
- Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to documentation, process mapping, and requirements elicitation.
- Adept at working collaboratively across multiple departments and disciplines.
