As a Business Analyst – Accela, you will analyze existing business processes, identify improvement areas, and translate complex requirements into actionable solutions within the Accela ecosystem. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT professionals and business stakeholders, to design, configure, and enhance the Accela permitting and licensing system. Your contributions will support streamlined workflows, increased user satisfaction, and the continued success of the organization’s digital initiatives.
This role is ideal for candidates who possess hands-on experience with Accela, a strong background in business analysis, and proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Jira. You’ll have the chance to lead system configuration, support user adoption, and ensure quality assurance throughout the software lifecycle.
Business Analyst – Accela Summary- Play a key role in optimizing permitting and licensing workflows using the Accela platform.
- Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Enhance system performance, drive user satisfaction, and ensure compliance with business objectives.
- Leverage industry-leading tools for documentation, analysis, and communication.
- Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement within the Accela system.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather, document, and translate business requirements into technical solutions aligned with Accela capabilities.
- Lead system configuration, enhancements, and troubleshooting efforts, ensuring timely delivery of solutions that meet user needs.
- Coordinate and perform quality assurance testing to verify system functionality and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Work closely with Accela developers and IT staff to resolve issues and implement improvements that boost system performance and user experience.
- Utilize tools such as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Jira for documentation, analysis, and communication.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Direct, hands-on experience with the Accela system, particularly in permitting and licensing within local government environments.
- Experience documenting requirements, configuring or managing Accela systems, and supporting user adoption.
- Demonstrated success in facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT) and conducting quality assurance validations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Jira.
- Familiarity with agile project management methodologies is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst working directly with the Accela platform is highly desirable.
- Analytical problem-solver with a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Adaptable and detail-oriented, able to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
