Building Automation Technician - Summary
- Lead the integration and optimization of advanced building automation systems (BAS) for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Serve as a technical expert, collaborating across departments to implement process improvements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced technicians and Integration Specialists.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead integration projects involving BAS, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems using protocols such as BACnet, LON, SLC, TCP/IP, and RS-485.
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittal information to ensure proper system integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to network controllers, hardware, and software components.
- Work with project stakeholders to define system requirements and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
- Guide and mentor team members, sharing best practices and technical knowledge.
- Document integration processes, project milestones, and technical configurations for future reference.
- Use Microsoft Office applications and handheld devices to manage project documentation and communication.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology preferred.
- Minimum of six years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC, electrical, or related technical fields preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of construction or HVAC industry practices, control theory, automatic temperature controls, and BAS.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, including mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Expertise in low-voltage building sub-systems integration and familiarity with industry protocols (BACnet, LON, SLC, TCP/IP, RS-485).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex networked environments.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience mentoring junior staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and mobile technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
