Bilingual Customer Service Representative (Spanish) Position Overview
The Bilingual Customer Service Representative (Spanish) is a key member of an established insurance agency team, supporting clients through outstanding service and communication in both English and Spanish. This full-time or part-time position is ideal for individuals who are motivated, organized, and dedicated to providing an excellent customer experience. While prior insurance experience is not required, candidates must be willing to obtain the necessary state licenses as required. Comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate who demonstrates a strong customer-focused mindset and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Establish, strengthen, and maintain customer relationships through regular communication and proactive follow-ups as needed.
- Deliver prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service by responding to inquiries about insurance products, policy availability, eligibility, coverage changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing inquiries.
- Educate customers about available insurance options using a customer-focused, needs-based review process to ensure clients understand their coverage and choices.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and work ethic, demonstrating a daily commitment to achieving team and individual success.
- Provide timely and thorough activity reports to the agency principal as required.
- Stay up-to-date with product developments, policy changes, licensing requirements, and ongoing training opportunities.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required to effectively communicate with a diverse client base.
- Active insurance licenses (Personal Lines, Property and Casualty, or Life and Health) are a plus; however, candidates must be able to obtain a Personal Lines license upon hire if not already licensed.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and respond empathetically to customer needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Organizational abilities and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and customer requests efficiently.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable learning and utilizing computer systems and software necessary for daily operations.
