Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Autism Support Summary

- Adjust and modify environments to accommodate sensory processing needs, proactively recognizing and addressing signs of sensory overload.
- Utilize de-escalation and sensory regulation techniques to help children remain calm and engaged.
- Model appropriate social interactions and support skill acquisition in educational, social, and motor tasks.
- Document behavioral data, progress notes, and observations regarding the child's physical and emotional well-being for review by the clinical team.
- Collaborate with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, BCBAs, and other professionals to create and implement comprehensive care plans.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, nursing, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with children, especially those with special needs or behavioral challenges, strongly preferred.
- Ability to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within the first few weeks of employment if not already certified (training may be provided).
