In this Bankruptcy Attorney position, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and filing bankruptcy pleadings and related legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements. You will assist with all aspects of bankruptcy cases, including Proofs of Claim, Motions for Relief, Objections, Responses to Objections, Payment Change Notices, Settlements, and Adversary Proceedings. The role requires active participation in mediations, depositions, and both telephonic and in-person hearings, allowing you to develop strong litigation and negotiation skills. Additionally, you will have the chance to meet regularly with clients, providing timely updates and strategic guidance throughout the bankruptcy process.
To excel in the Bankruptcy Attorney position, candidates must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be licensed and in good standing with the Maryland and Virginia State Bars. While one or more years of bankruptcy experience is preferred, newly licensed attorneys with a strong interest in bankruptcy law are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
