The Aviation Assembler plays a crucial role within the aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry. This career path is well-suited for individuals passionate about hands-on technical work and focused on maintaining the highest safety and quality standards in aviation. As an Aviation Assembler, you will be responsible for the precise reassembly, fitting, and torquing of aircraft components in line with detailed technical documentation such as Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), and other relevant resources. The position is central to ensuring that aircraft landing gear systems and other critical components are restored to optimal working condition, supporting both regulatory compliance and operational safety.
Working as an Aviation Assembler involves close collaboration with various teams, including Quality Control, Engineering, and Planning. You will be entrusted with conducting functional testing on landing gear systems following overhaul procedures, ensuring all systems operate flawlessly before aircraft return to service. Documenting maintenance actions meticulously is a core aspect of this role, as all records must comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and company-specific protocols. This documentation is vital for maintaining traceability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory bodies such as the FAA and, where applicable, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Safety remains the top priority for all Aviation Assemblers. Adhering to FAA Part 145 requirements and company-mandated safety protocols—including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention procedures—is essential at all times.
