Automation Technician (Robotics, PLC) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Design mechanical and electrical automation solutions using CAD software, ensuring ergonomic and efficient system layouts.
- Apply fastening standards and a strong understanding of fluid power systems in system designs.
- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of automation components and systems.
- Develop and implement full controls systems, adhering to NEC and ANSI codes and best practices for safety.
- Utilize advanced computer programming skills in various software languages to enhance automation capabilities.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, IO, VFDs, servo drives, vision systems, and other intelligent devices for manufacturing applications.
- Develop application-specific data collection and monitoring solutions to support production optimization.
- Ensure all process development documentation complies with quality management systems for a seamless transition to production.
- Lead and support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives aimed at process improvement and operational excellence.
- Provide ongoing support for existing automation technologies, including component upgrades and process enhancements.
- Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain a high standard of teamwork and communication.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's or Technical Degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in the design and implementation of automated systems.
- Proficiency with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with controls platforms including RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, Codesys, and GX Works3.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering principles, including safety standards and hazard assessment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and quality management systems.
