Associate Medical Director (MD/DO) - Summary
- Lead, mentor, and coach PCPs in designated clinics to uphold high standards of primary care delivery.
- Balance clinical practice with administrative responsibilities for optimal patient and organizational outcomes.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and support organizational strategic goals.
- Serve as a core member of the health leadership team, interfacing with operations and executive leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations for assigned primary care clinics, working closely with VPs of Operations.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, ensuring best practices are demonstrated in clinical settings.
- Participate in and lead the opening of new primary care centers within the market.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing best practices with corporate and market leadership teams.
- Contribute strategic input to organization-wide goals, such as:
- Network development and specialty referrals
- Documentation and accurate coding
- Quality improvement and HEDIS measures
- Utilization management
- Transitional care and case management
- Clinical compliance and policy development
- Patient engagement and community outreach
- Model and reinforce the organization’s mission and values, fostering a collaborative staff environment.
- Communicate the impact and benefits of the organization’s care model to staff and patients.
- Travel within the market as required to oversee clinics and engage with teams.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM); Geriatrics certification is a plus.
- Three to five years of experience in value-based care (VBC) or managed care.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead clinical teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel within the assigned market as needed.
