The Associate Market Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) is an integral member of the health leadership team, charged with advancing clinical excellence across a network of primary care clinics. This pivotal physician leadership position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and organizational strategy while supporting and mentoring a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and clinical staff. This role combines direct patient engagement with high-level administrative oversight, ensuring both clinical and operational standards are met across multiple clinic sites.
Based in Charlotte, NC, the Associate Market Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) will take a hands-on approach to leadership by providing guidance to healthcare providers, leading best practices, and driving quality outcomes. In addition to delivering primary care services as needed, this role focuses on continuous improvement initiatives and the development of a collaborative, patient-centered care environment. The Associate Market Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) will also play a crucial role in opening new clinic locations and supporting the ongoing success and growth of established centers throughout the region.

Associate Market Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to PCPs and clinical teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical standards.
- Maintain a part-time clinical practice to stay closely connected to patient care needs and challenges.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to providers, fostering professional development and a culture of excellence.
- Oversee clinical operations in collaboration with operations executives, focusing on efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
- Support the launch of new clinic locations, including operational planning and patient care ramp-up.
- Contribute to organizational strategy, including quality improvement efforts, accurate documentation and coding, and compliance with clinical policies.
- Participate in market-wide initiatives such as network development, specialty referrals, utilization management, transitional care, and case management.
- Drive engagement in community outreach and patient engagement activities to enhance care delivery and organizational reputation.
- Promote and uphold the organization's mission and values in every aspect of clinic operation and patient interaction.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatrics preferred.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading clinical teams.
- 3-5 years of experience in value-based care (VBC) or managed care strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel within the market as needed for clinic oversight and support.
