Assistant Superintendent – Construction Summary
- Support the Project Superintendent in managing all phases of commercial construction projects.
- Act as a key on-site leader, coordinating daily activities and ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Assist in maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Develop professional relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Superintendent in managing daily site operations and workflow for commercial construction projects.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and crews to ensure timely, quality project delivery.
- Monitor and update construction schedules, tracking critical path activities and project milestones.
- Conduct daily jobsite walks, prepare comprehensive daily reports, and communicate progress or issues to project management.
- Enforce and promote jobsite safety, lead toolbox safety talks, and adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Support quality control efforts by verifying work against project drawings and specifications, coordinating inspections, and assisting with punch lists and closeouts.
- Coordinate delivery and logistics of materials and equipment on site, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Interact professionally with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders, representing the company’s commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 1–5 years of field experience in commercial construction (Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or equivalent roles).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with the ability to supervise subcontractors and construction crews.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications and construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or MS Project preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including background check and drug screening.
- Preferred: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification; experience with commercial projects such as tenant improvements, retail, office, mixed-use, or ground-up construction; familiarity with local permitting and inspection processes.
