Assistant Property Manager - Summary
As an Assistant Property Manager, you will be responsible for supporting both operational and administrative functions within an apartment community. The position requires you to be proactive in addressing the needs of residents, supporting leasing efforts, and ensuring the community meets company standards of excellence. The Assistant Property Manager serves as a liaison between residents, prospective tenants, staff, and management, making this role essential for fostering a positive community atmosphere and maintaining high occupancy levels. Your expertise in property management software, resident communication, and team leadership will be key assets in this role. Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Community Manager with daily property operations and staff supervision to ensure effective management of the apartment community.
- Assist with all aspects of leasing, including greeting prospective residents, conducting property tours, processing rental applications, preparing lease agreements, and coordinating move-ins and move-outs.
- Oversee front desk operations, respond to resident inquiries, and professionally resolve escalated service and policy issues with promptness and care.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance requests, manage vendor schedules, and oversee unit turns to guarantee timely completion and quality control.
- Train, schedule, and oversee onsite team members such as leasing agents, front desk personnel, and maintenance staff, and assist with performance feedback and development.
- Monitor occupancy rates, assist with rent collection and delinquency follow-up, and perform basic accounting tasks including rent deposits and daily operational reporting.
- Maintain accurate records in property management software and prepare regular operational and leasing reports for upper management review.
- Enforce property rules, safety protocols, and appearance standards, and conduct property inspections to ensure compliance and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
- Assist with property marketing initiatives, resident retention programs, community events, and maintain online listings to drive occupancy and resident engagement.
- Perform opening and closing duties for the property and act as the onsite manager in the absence of the Community Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in multifamily property management, leasing, hospitality, or retail management preferred; supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Demonstrated customer service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with aptitude for multitasking and time management.
- Basic accounting skills and comfort working with financial reports and rent collections procedures.
- Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi or RealPage, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, lead and motivate a small team, and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant real estate/multifamily certification preferred.
