Assistant Construction Superintendent – Multifamily Summary
As an Assistant Construction Superintendent – Multifamily, you will assist in overseeing all aspects of day-to-day field operations for multi-family construction projects. Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily field activities to maintain project schedules and meet milestone deadlines.
- Create and manage short-interval look-ahead project schedules to proactively communicate and address upcoming tasks and potential issues.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce the project site safety plan, fostering a culture of safety, health, and cleanliness.
- Coordinate and manage construction work to ensure alignment with contract documents and best-practice standards.
- Establish and maintain all dimensional controls, utilizing third-party survey and layout personnel as needed.
- Inspect all work to verify it meets quality standards, including plumb, level, and straight installations.
- Arrange for all necessary inspections and ensure comprehensive documentation of quality aspects of the work.
- Ensure full compliance with contract terms, legal requirements, and community regulations.
- Administer client-specific programs (e.g., landlord/site rules, safety requirements, security protocols).
- Participate in pre-construction, progress, and staff meetings to facilitate effective project management.
- Oversee self-performed activities, ensuring adherence to project budgets.
- Manage changes in project scope, ensuring utilization of the most current documents to prevent rework.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders, ensuring all terms are met proactively.
- Lead the punch list and project closeout process for timely completion.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and correspondence.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with supporting teams such as IT, vendors, and security.
- Assist with project proposals, reviewing estimates, and participating in interviews and marketing initiatives.
- Engage in business development and project acquisition activities as required.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the company’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Ground-up construction experience is required.
- Prior experience with multi-family construction projects is essential.
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management or similar field, or recognized Journeyman status in a building trade with progressive supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and procedures for commercial and institutional buildings and site work.
- Proficiency in construction-related software including spreadsheets, scheduling tools, Microsoft Office, and industry-specific applications.
- Current safety credentials such as OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certification.
