If you are mechanically inclined and enjoy working with your hands, the Assembly Technician role offers a dynamic opportunity to join an industry leader in in-store assembly services. As the largest in-store assembly company in the nation, M&C provides assembly solutions for top retailers, helping customers by efficiently putting together a wide array of retail products. We are seeking motivated individuals who take pride in high-quality work and are eager to build their skills and earnings as Assembly Technicians on a contract basis.
Assembly Technicians are responsible for assembling a range of large consumer products inside major retail stores. From BBQ grills and lawn mowers to patio furniture, outdoor storage sheds, wheelbarrows, and bicycles, the work is varied and fast-paced. Technicians work independently, following specific assembly instructions to ensure each item is built correctly, safely, and to the highest standards. The role requires a proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to reliable, punctual performance.
In this contract-based position, Assembly Technicians have the flexibility to set their own schedules, allowing them to balance work with other life commitments. The more efficiently and accurately you assemble products, the greater your earning potential. Compensation is based on the number of units completed, with top performers reaching high hourly equivalents thanks to a commission-based pay structure. Commitment to quality, punctuality, and reliability is rewarded through higher commission rates and access to more assignments, including higher-volume retail locations.
To excel in the Assembly Technician role, you must be physically capable of lifting and moving large, heavy items repeatedly throughout the workday. A personal set of tools is required, including an 18V cordless impact driver or drill, deep metric sockets, Allen/hex bit set, cutting pliers, various screwdrivers, an adjustable wrench, box cutter or utility knife, and a rubber mallet. Reliable transportation and a smartphone with a working camera are also essential, as these tools facilitate efficient worksite check-ins, invoicing, and communication via our dedicated app.
Technicians are evaluated on speed, quality of workmanship, and reliability. On-time arrival at job sites, consistent high-volume assembly, and never missing assignments are all recognized and rewarded. No formal experience is necessary, but you must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a readiness to work. M&C values hard-working professionals who are dedicated to delivering outstanding results for clients and retail partners.
Joining M&C as an Assembly Technician means becoming part of a supportive network of skilled professionals. You will have the opportunity to work in familiar retail environments, often close to home, and enjoy the variety that comes with new assembly challenges each day. Weekly pay, performance-based incentives, and access to priority assignments are just a few of the benefits that make this role attractive to self-starters who enjoy hands-on work.
