Assembly Technician - Summary
The Assembly Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting the manufacturing and quality assurance processes by performing assembly and testing operations within the department. Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and conduct tests as specified in testing protocols.
- Drill components with micro-drills and operate lathes for precise fabrication.
- Read and interpret pressure gauges and flow meters, logging accurate data according to test requirements.
- Form swedge noses at 37° and 45° angles as required by assembly specifications.
- Secure parts using lock-wire and torque seal methods.
- Follow daily work dispatches and supervisor instructions to meet production goals.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for all job-related components and assemblies.
- Install internal parts using arbor presses and appropriate fixtures.
- Troubleshoot test failures, perform rework, and recommend corrective actions subject to supervisory approval.
- Set up and operate micro laser welding machines and drill presses for crimp rolling.
- Document and suggest process improvements for enhanced departmental efficiency.
- Ensure all tools and workstations are clean and in good working condition.
- Report malfunctioning equipment promptly to the supervisor.
- Handle and dispose of chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
- Adhere strictly to company safety standards and utilize safety equipment as required.
- Identify and report routing discrepancies for process updates.
- Comprehend and work from blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Understand basic hydraulic concepts as they apply to gauges, flow meters, and assemblies.
- Maintain a high standard of quality, targeting a 100% quality rating and less than 0.1% rejected components due to technician error.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in assembly, testing, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Certification or coursework in Hydraulic Principles.
- Basic proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Competence in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Experience using Windows-based computers and internet browsers preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and related assembly concepts.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
