Assembly Technician - Summary
- Responsible for in-store assembly of a variety of merchandise, including grills, outdoor equipment, patio furniture, bikes, and other large retail products.
- Work is performed directly within major retail stores, providing a dynamic and varied daily environment.
- Independent contractor role with flexible, self-directed scheduling.
- Compensation is based on units assembled, with top performers earning higher rates.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assemble products efficiently and accurately according to manufacturer instructions within retail store environments.
- Use personal tools and equipment, including (but not limited to) cordless impact drivers or drills, deep metric sockets, Allen/hex bit sets, cutting pliers, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, box cutters, and rubber mallets.
- Document completed work using a smartphone for photos, scanning, and invoicing through the company app.
- Communicate professionally with store staff and customers as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety standards while on job sites.
- Manage your own schedule, blocking out availability and maximizing assignment opportunities.
- Maintain punctual and reliable attendance to ensure high commission rates and priority job access.
Salary & Benefits

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly and performing large-item assembly tasks.
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to job sites.
- Working smartphone with camera functionality to support app-based job requirements.
- Ownership of essential assembly tools, including: cordless impact driver/drill, metric sockets, Allen/hex bits, pliers, multiple screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, box cutter, and rubber mallet.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to follow detailed assembly instructions.
