As an Anesthesiologist (MD/DO), you will provide high-quality anesthesia care in a trauma level 3 hospital with a reputable support team, covering a range of surgical specialties.

This locum tenens anesthesiology position is designed for candidates who are comfortable with a diverse caseload, including orthopedic, general surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, urology, and more. The assignment runs from June 15 through September 30, with the possibility of extension. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, and call coverage is required with a 24-hour call structure. The call schedule includes first and second call responsibilities, with first call typically requiring on-site presence 1-2 times per night. Call responsibilities also include obstetric cases, and all responding anesthesiologists must be able to arrive within 15 minutes when needed.

As an Anesthesiologist (MD/DO), you will perform only operating room anesthesia services, with no clinic work required. The average daily surgical census is 4-5 cases, focusing on bread-and-butter surgeries such as ortho, general surgery, and regional blocks for appropriate cases. There are no cardiac, neuro, or cranial cases. Preferred experience in procedures includes, but is not limited to, OB/GYN, ortho, general surgery, plastics, vascular, colo-rectal, ENT, GI, and urology. While you will not be expected to handle high-risk pediatric cases, you may see healthy pediatric patients if qualified; pediatric anesthesia experience is a plus but not required.

You will join a midsize anesthesiology group, occasionally supervising CRNAs (2 in practice), and be supported by a full complement of perioperative staff, including anesthesia techs, physician assistants, and nurses. The facility is committed to providing a collaborative and efficient work environment, with travel arrangements covered for locum tenens staff. Expedited onboarding and credentialing are available, with temporary privileges possible for candidates with a clean professional background.

Requirements for this Anesthesiologist (MD/DO), Locum Tenens, Anesthesiology position include an active New York state medical license, an active DEA registration (or willingness to transfer), ACLS certification, and MMR immunization. Board certification or board eligibility in anesthesiology is required.
