Duties & Responsibilities- Manage 4-5 surgical cases daily across a variety of specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, OB/Gyn, ENT, urology, plastics, colorectal, and GI.
- Provide comprehensive obstetric anesthesia services, including labor epidurals and emergency C-sections.
- Participate in a weekday on-call rotation, with the requirement to be within a 15-minute response window during call periods.
- Perform regional blocks for a range of OR cases to optimize patient comfort and surgical outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), anesthesia technicians, and operating room staff to deliver high-quality anesthesia care.
- Deliver 100% hospital-based coverage focused on the operating room and labor & delivery; no clinic work is required.
- Optionally provide anesthesia care to healthy pediatric patients, though this is not a mandatory requirement.
- Market-competitive compensation, negotiable based on commitment and experience.

- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.

- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anesthesiology is mandatory.
- Prior experience and comfort with obstetric anesthesia, including labor epidurals and C-sections.
- ACLS certification and up-to-date immunization documentation required.
- Preference for candidates with a clean professional history, including malpractice and work record.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team environment.
- Experienced in hospital-based anesthesia, with a strong background in both surgical and obstetric cases.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to handle a mix of case types in a dynamic OR environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with CRNAs, RNs, OR techs, and other medical professionals.
- Open to providing high-quality patient care in both routine and emergent situations.
- Comfortable with a locum tenens assignment structure and the associated travel requirements.
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining high clinical standards.
- The facility is a Level III Trauma Center with nine well-maintained operating rooms, utilizing the EPIC EMR system.
- The surgical team includes approximately 15 physicians and 2 CRNAs, supported by experienced OR nurses and technicians.
- The annual case volume includes 700-800 deliveries, with no cardiac, neuro, or cranial cases required.
