The Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) – Locum Tenens will be responsible for providing anesthesia services exclusively in the operating room, managing both routine and complex surgical cases. Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) – Locum Tenens Summary
- Provide anesthesia for a broad range of surgical procedures in an operating room setting.
- Work as part of a midsize anesthesiology group with occasional CRNA supervision.
- Perform regional blocks and manage anesthesia for OB/Gyn, orthopedic, general surgery, plastics, vascular, colo-rectal, ENT, GI, and urology cases.
- Support and collaborate with a full team including technicians, physician assistants, and nurses.
- Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and care coordination.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
- Perform preoperative assessments to evaluate patient suitability for anesthesia and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and manage anesthesia-related complications as needed.
- Perform regional anesthetic techniques for operating room cases, as clinically appropriate.
- Participate in a call schedule, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd call coverage, with 24-hour on-call responsibilities as outlined by the department.
- Respond to obstetric cases as part of on-call duties, maintaining a 15-minute response time.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, nursing staff, and other anesthesia providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-focused surgical environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology.
- Active and unrestricted NY medical license.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Proof of MMR immunization.
- Ability to obtain temporary privileges with a clean background check.
- Strong clinical skills in anesthesia management, including regional blocks.
- Comfortable working in a Level 3 trauma setting (no CT, neuro, or cranial cases required).
