Anesthesiologist MD/DO - Summary
- Contract position for a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist (MD/DO)
- Coverage for multiple blocks throughout the year with potential for extension
- Inpatient hospital environment; Trauma Level 3
- Care for patients aged 6 months and above
- Collaborate with a team of 11 physicians plus 1 assistant; No CRNA support
- Utilize the Epic EMR system for patient documentation
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical procedures, including major vascular, cardiac cath lab cases, obstetrics, trauma, spinal, orthopedic, thoracic, and regional anesthesia/peripheral nerve blocks
- Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients (ages six months and older)
- Participate in daily surgical caseloads averaging 6-10 elective surgeries, 0-1 trauma surgeries (1-2 per month), and 0-2 pediatric procedures per day
- Collaborate with an experienced team of anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Complete all required documentation using the Epic EMR platform
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and established protocols
- Participate in an initial orientation session prior to first coverage block

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology
- Active state medical license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 2 years of post-residency experience in anesthesiology
- Ability to commit to scheduled coverage blocks and attend mandatory orientation prior to the first assignment
- Clean background for expedited credentialing and temporary privileges

Other Relevant Information
- Shifts are Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm
- Multiple specific coverage dates available with orientation required within two weeks of first scheduled block
- No holiday coverage required for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day
