Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, ENT, bariatric, robotic, plastic, GI, GYN, pediatric dental, pediatric ENT, and interventional radiology cases
- Serve as a facilitator to ensure safe, effective, and timely delivery of anesthesia care
- Participate in back-up call rotations as required by the department
- Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure safety and optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Uphold the highest standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality at all times
- Stay current with advancements in anesthesia practices and participate in ongoing professional development
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive compensation structure as a 1099 independent contractor
- Sign-on/relocation bonus: $40,000 for a 24-month contract; $20,000 for a 12-month contract
- Quarterly bonus opportunities based on performance metrics
- 42 weeks of work per year (10 weeks off)
- Additional work-back fee of $1,900 per shift if working beyond 43-week obligation
- Medical malpractice insurance requirements: Must comply with NM Patient Compensation Fund (PCF)

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- Demonstrated experience in providing anesthesia care across a range of specialties
- Ability to fulfill call and shift requirements as outlined in the contract
- Compliance with all organizational, state, and federal regulatory requirements
- Professional liability insurance in accordance with NM Patient Compensation Fund standards
