Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) – Full-time Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) to join a collaborative and skilled team in Southwest Louisiana. This full-time opportunity is based within a respected healthcare network featuring a Level III trauma center and a multidisciplinary women’s hospital. The position offers a dynamic clinical environment with exposure to a wide variety of surgical cases and the opportunity to work alongside a robust team of anesthesia professionals, including physicians and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
Responsibilities
- Deliver anesthesia care across two hospital facilities: a 315-bed main campus and a 52-bed women's hospital.
- Provide anesthesia services in diverse surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, Urology, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Trauma (Level III), OB/GYN, ENT, and Pediatrics.
- Participate in a day, float, and night float system, with an average of one weekend call per month and no in-house call requirements.
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team of six anesthesiology physicians and over 25 CRNAs to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Oversee pediatric cases, primarily for children aged three to four weeks and occasionally neonates for specific procedures such as pyloric stenosis.
- Support the anesthesia needs for multiple operating rooms, endoscopy suites, and a pulmonary suite.
- Maintain clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
- Current unrestricted medical license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one.
- Cardiac anesthesia training is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient care and collaborative teamwork.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
