Optigy is actively seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens assignment. This full-time night shift opportunity is based onsite and involves working within a multi-specialty medical-surgical ICU. The ACNP / PA will work in close collaboration with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver advanced, evidence-based care to acutely ill patients. This role is ideal for advanced practice providers with a strong clinical background in critical care, who are passionate about making a significant impact in patient outcomes in an ICU environment.
As a valued member of the Optigy team, the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) will be responsible for the assessment, management, and ongoing care of critically ill patients. The position features a consistent schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week, providing continuity of care while promoting a balanced work-life dynamic. The environment is designed for collaborative practice, with ample support from attending physicians, and patient ratios structured to ensure high-quality care delivery.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in a range of ICU procedures, including central line and arterial line insertions, and will be comfortable working with advanced electronic medical records (Cerner EMR). The role requires a provider who is adept at interpreting diagnostic results, implementing interventions, and engaging in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure optimal patient care. This position is particularly suited for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity settings and who possess a minimum of 12 years of ICU experience as an advanced practice provider.

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - Locum Tenens Summary- Full-time, onsite locum tenens position in a medical-surgical ICU
- Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week

- Manage and monitor critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and implement clinical interventions
- Perform ICU procedures, including central line (CVL, vascath, introducer) and arterial line insertions
- Document clinical encounters and procedures in Cerner EMR
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status to care teams
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of case logs for credentialing
- Adhere to evidence-based clinical protocols and patient safety standards
